According to Casey Councils ‘Equestrian strategy' (2011), they have ‘a strong commitment to supporting equestrian activities and participation’.
To date, however, the Council are unwilling to respond as to whether or not they will uphold their own planning overlays for Harkaway and support the residents against this development.

King Road is an important part of the Equestrian trail network, linking the northern and southern parts of Casey.
The King Road section alone offers over 4km of trail through undulating countryside, with magnificent views along a safe unsealed road, shared with some local traffic.
The Proposed Rosemaur Gallery complex, places the equestrian opportunities at significant risk.
With the proposed widening and sealing of King Road by the developers and the anticipated huge volume of traffic (outlined in their own reports) horse riding safely is virtually impossible.
