On 31st of December 2021 the solar rebates for solar systems and battery backup ended, this is unacceptable, the rebates should continue at least for the next few years to encourage more uptake of solar power in Australia, this takes load off the power distribution system and lessens pollution from coal fired power stations plus solar power can be a nice little earner for the owner saving money on power bills and even making money from power sold to the grid.

I am looking to purchase a country property and utilise solar power with battery backup to be independent of power, selling excess power to the grid to have a passive income but now that rebates have ended it makes it very difficult to afford to do this as it will cost 50% more to go solar.
