Minimise the use of AI in education
The Issue
AI is being used to inaccurately set and mark homework across the UK on Sparx. We have teachers promoting the use of Copilot or ChatGPT for our revision, which makes teaching valuable revision techniques a waste of our time when they are not put into practice. And most of all, AI's impact on job availability in recent times makes education an even more important facet of life that MUST NOT have such extreme shortcuts taken on.
People often view the increased use of AI as an inevitable movement that is beneficial to us, as it makes things easier. They are not considering the greater consequences of AI that this is fuelling, such as harm to the environment at centres and a decline of basic human intuition to those who use it more frequently. These things must be thought about before blind acceptance comes into play.
We are fuelling something way greater than we see; we must act now before it's too difficult to reverse in the future.
