Marsha the Bloodhound should be back home where she belongs.

Marsha the Bloodhound should be back home where she belongs.

The Issue

Marsha the Bloodhound was dumped on my Aunt's property a few months ago by an unknown individual. She had several medical issues and was barely alive. My Aunt sought medical treatment immediately through her veterinarian. Because of the high cost of the medical treatment this Bloodhound needed she also sought help through Southcentral Bloodhound rescue league. "Emily Williams".

My Aunt was an Angel to Marsha. She gave her the best of the best care. I will add here that my Aunt has rescued two other puppy black labs that were dumped on her property, she nurtured them and found them wonderful forever homes. She also has two horses. One of which due to an injury, her vet wanted to put this horse down. My Aunt refused and nurtured and cared for this horse who is now thriving and healthy. She also has 3 other horses that are rescues and other dogs. She has a compassion for animals that all of us should have.

Marsha came into heat and was boarded at Emily Williams request for a few days which during that time she would receive additional medical treatment. During the few days she was boarded, Emily sent Two ladies to pick Marsha up and move her not once, but twice. My Aunt was not given the opportunity to say goodbye nor did she approve of this which she did tell Emily.

My Aunt gave Marsha great care and became very attached to Marsha as Marsha also became attached to her and her other furbabies. My Aunt has requested numerous times to have Marsha returned to her and wants to adopt her and has made it clear that she will pay for all medical procedures to be done. The veterinarian is also in agreement with this.

Please sign my petition to help us get Marsha back home where she belongs. Marsha was very happy and content and it is not in Marsha's best interest to be taken from the family she loved and moved from place to place.   We need to get Marsha back home. Please sign and share. Thank you.

The Decision Makers

Jessica Somers
Director 1 of South Central Bloodhound Club
Responded
South Central Bloodhound Club’s (SCBC) Board of Directors would like to thank everyone for their continued concern for Marsha. SCBC’s Board of Directors has carefully reviewed all information provided, including but not limited to written correspondence between the two parties (Rescue Director, Emily Williams and Rebecca Garland), veterinary records, and a telephone call hosted by the Board of directors that allowed both parties to detail the events. The SCBC Board of Directors has determined that Emily Williams acted in good faith and in alignment with Rescue Policy regarding the decision that was made to transfer Marsha to the Dallas area. Furthermore, through the review of the available correspondence, the SCBC Board of Directors would like to offer clarification of the following details: • Rebecca Garland was informed on August 1, 2015 that Marsha would be moved to the Dallas area on the following Monday, August 3, 2015. • At that time, no objections were raised regarding the move of Marsha to the Dallas area. • Rebecca did not make it to the boarding facility to see Marsha before SCBC’s transport team arrived after 2:00PM on Monday, August 3, 2015. • Only after Marsha was transferred out of her care did her foster, Rebecca Garland, state that she wanted to move forward with an adoption and have Marsha returned to her care. We certainly understand that emotional bonds are formed between our foster families and the bloodhounds fostered in their homes, but SCBC Rescue is responsible for acting in the best interest of the bloodhounds in our care. SCBC Rescue is responsible for the funding and management of veterinary care for the bloodhounds in our program prior to allowing them to be released for adoption. For that reason, SCBC’s Board of Directors upholds the decision to keep Marsha in her current foster home in the Dallas area. This decision will allow Marsha the opportunity to continue her approved treatment plan. Upon completion of Marsha’s required veterinary care, Marsha will be available for adoption. At that time, all interested parties that have submitted an adoption application will be carefully considered by the SCBC’s Board of Directors. Respectfully, Board of Directors South Central Bloodhound Club
