Introduce free outdoor sports facilities in our local parks
The Issue
The proportion of adults with a healthy body mass index (BMI) – defined as being between 18.5 and 25 – fell to just 34% in men and 39% in women during 2011. Which means that approximately 65 % of people in the UK are either overweight or obese. Which is frankly a very shocking statistic, but although there is not a quick or easy cure most studies show that even small amounts of regular exercise can make a huge difference in a persons life. Our solution is that a few small outdoor exercise facilities such as the one near the Swiss cottage library, which are cheap, free to use and very accessible. The central difference between this an a conventional membership gym is that there are no obligations and those don't wish to buy membership don't have too. Originally we planned to ask the government for a dietary plan, but eventually we realised that the only way for people to truly experience a lasting and powerful change in the health, they have to increase the amount they exercise. This can come in the form of anything from a jog in your local park once a week or be as simple as outdoor gyms across London. Ideal for full time sport heads who might want a quick workout but not want to go to a gym or a complete newbie who wants to avoid the hassle and expense of gym membership
