Freeze Rental Leases In Response to COVID19

Freeze Rental Leases In Response to COVID19
The Issue
As the world knows, COVID19 has found itself in all 50 states of our great nation. We are on the cusp of one of the worst pandemics anyone alive has ever experienced. The service industry was one of the first segments of this great nation negatively impacted by social distancing. Though completely necessary to the slowing of the CoronaVirus many hard working bartenders and servers, amongst many others are now out of a job due to this. Many of us rent. We are mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, veterans and students. The Ohio Department if Unemployment is overwhelmed and stretched beyond its means. As our rental due dates rapidly approaching, the fear of not being able to make rent looms in the distance. We are begging that a freeze be put on the rental amounts being charged. Many companies and landlords have expressed a willingness to help out or do what they can to work with us while many others have shown a complete lack of human compassion, threatening late fees and even eviction. Will you stand behind us during this time of need until we figure this out? We are amongst some of the hardest working group of individuals employed. We just need a little help.
