So many basic supermarket items still come in packaging that is NOT RECYCLABLE, which makes it very hard for families to reduce plastic use and help the life of the planet. For example Sainsbury's spaghetti, Sainsbury's rice, Kellogs cornflakes, Sainsbury's wraps, Sharwoods egg noodles, Burton's jammie dodgers, Hula Hoops and Sainsbury's cheddar cheese are all packed in non recyclable packaging as are most fruit, vegetables and breads. We desperately need supermarkets to take the lead and convert to biodegradable, recyclable, or refillable packaging NOW. And we need this to be affordable. Supermarkets also need to require this of their suppliers. Some supermarkets are better than others and where they can families move to support these and change their shopping habits. Cost can make this difficult or impossible. We ask to take the bull by the horns and take action NOW together with families. Together help the life of our planet and all our futures.
