Let me start by saying this is not a petition to simply vent anger. This is a petition because it is time for a change. Credit where credit is due. Coach Painter is a hell of a recruiter. But unfortunately, teams don't win on talent alone. Coach Painter simply does not have what it takes when facing tough competition to come out on top regularly. He doesn't game plan well, he doesn't make in-game adjustments and he apparently doesn't work on team weakness as the same issues rear their ugly head game in and game out, win or lose. And I'm not just talking about March Madness. This year alone, Purdue lost 6 games as favorites and only won 1 game as an underdog. That is a sign of one thing only: poor coaching. Good coaches can get their teams to win the games they are supposed to and win some they aren't. Coach Painter has shown in his 13 years he is just not able to do that. I urge ALL alum and all Purdue fans to sign this petition and let AD Mike Bobinski it is time for him to take leadership of this program and do what is right for the long-term success of Boiler Basketball and remove Coach Painter of his duties effective immediately.
