Hi everyone,

I am still on holiday on Porto Santo and unfortunately have seen a couple of instances of neglect and cruelty regarding dogs on the island. Firstly i saw an emaciated young dog and fed it as best i could. Secondly, i have witnessed dogs tethered with chains which is a very cruel thing to do and imprisons the animal causing psychological problems, stress and physical harm. Why do people think this is acceptable??

There don't seem to be too many stray dogs here which is a blessing., they can be seen walking with their owners or taken to the workplace and wait for their owners.

This is a sister island of Madeira and therefore comes under Madeiran Law, so any improvements made regarding animal welfare will apply here also.
