Mifflin County local officials to take action on COVID-19
The Issue
As of 11/11/2020, Mifflin County has 691 positive COVID-19 results with an increase of 310 cases in the last 15 days. There are 25 individuals being hospitalized with 2 patients on ventilators. Mifflin County is number eleven on the most infected county in the Commonwealth with the most cases of COVID-19 per capita. Governor Wolf has placed the responsibility of public health recommendations and mandates on local officials. Many counties across the Commonwealth have devised disaster mandates, enforced recommendations, and have created COVID-19 task teams. It is time that Mifflin County local officials gets on board with actively taking on COVID-19 in the community. Our health care facility and our nursing homes are being overwhelmed. Our vulnerable community members are constantly at risk. Mandates and recommendations are not being taken seriously. Small businesses are faced with the anxiety of what will happen to their livelihood if the cases continue to rise in the county. By signing this petition you are using your voice for you local community members and demanding that local officials make it a necessity to take action now.
