The boys at the Pingry school are tired of being hot and sweaty throughout the day when wearing pants. The weather is hot and only going to get hotter. The girls are allowed to wear skirts and dresses, as well as   t-shirts, but us boys may not wear shorts. The boys have to wear button downs and polos too. We would like to have dress code equality and to be comfortable. And if the girls do not like dresses and skirts they should also be able to wear shorts. After spring break it will be 75+ degrees out. This is simply too hot to be wearing pants if we would like to play outside during free time. If we cannot wear shorts we are going to prefer staying inside. We ask to be permitted to wear shorts so we may be comfortable while learning and be able to go outside when we have free time.  But not only should we as students be comfortable but the teachers as well should be able to wear shorts, so they can be comfortable as well while teaching us.
