We want Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo to Allow cross-platform multiplayer between consoles so that we can have more players to game against, and a console to represent!

Dear Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo
We would appreciate it if you could please work together and bring Cross-Platform multi-player to your consoles, we understand that this brings a lot of technical issues and also financial challenges, but the future of gaming should be more open and more accessible for all gamers around the world.
Even if it was to start small in the shape of yearly cross platform competitions/tournaments where fans could represent their chosen consoles, and cut out petty console rivalry but a more healthy competitive spirit. Although there are a lot of barriers to prevent you from considering these choices, i'm going list some benefits of this collaboration in hope that you could at least consider the possibility.
1) Games more vibrant and full of life and life expectancy more greater, especially for smaller games.
2) Friends can play with other friends over different consoles and share experiences that are presently not possible
3) Tournaments and competitive online tournaments could reach new heights with gamers from their chosen console representing on a international stage, taking gaming more serious on an entertainment level.
These are just a few but the possibilities are endless, its time to take down some of the walls that are stopping the gaming industry, your industry reaching the next stage.
(To avoid any confusion this is not asking for the above companies to allow the others to use their exclusives or games in anyway but to allow third party titles which are already on the above consoles, to played openly across multiple platforms.)
