Remaster Morrowind and Oblivion For Current and Next-Gen Consoles

The Issue

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, are two video games that are cherished amongst The Elder Scrolls fans and roleplaying games (RPG) fans. The fans of these games are not specific to just one generation. There are those who were kids during the releases of Morrowind (2002) and Oblivion (2006). There are fans who were already adults during these games' releases and there are those who first played these games a decade or more after their initial releases. And the reasoning behind the multigenerational fandom of these games, is because these games are highly intriguing to all kinds of different people of different ages. Morrowind has sold over four (4) million copies, despite only being available on Microsoft Windows (PC) and the original Xbox. Oblivion has sold over nine and a half (9.5) million copies whilst only having copies sold on the Microsoft Windows (PC), Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 (PS3) platforms. These individual games' success alone would produce fairly well sales, however, if these two games were remastered and marketed as the predecessors to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, this would allows these two games to intrigue a much broader audience. Skyrim has sold over 30 million copies and there are many Skyrim fans who have yet to play Morrowind and Oblivion, simply because they have never had Morrowind or Oblivion in front of their eyes. Remastering these two games would help turn solely Skyrim fans into true The Elder Scrolls fans and this would help market The Elder Scrolls 6. Remastering Morrowind and Oblivion would not only provide a momentary financial gain, but it would also keep The Elder Scrolls in people's minds and this would help the initial sales of The Elder Scrolls 6.
