Microsoft: End the bait and switch - Stop removing features in branch releases
The Issue
We, the admins, sysadmins and uber users of the Microsoft Windows 10 platform respectfully ask Microsoft to stop the bait and switch actions you are currently doing with Windows 10 professional sku. Branch releases should not remove management control features that were shipped in an earlier release unless they are replaced with a mechanism of equivalent ease in a network.
Two times now you have release branch releases that have removed settings that allows administrators of systems to better control the operating system and now require us to purchase the Enterprise or Academic sku in order to protect our systems.
In the 1511 release the ability to block the store via group policy was removed as per design: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3135657
In the 1607 release the ability to disable extra unwanted - and non business apps - to our operating system has been disabled - http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/28/microsoft-removes-policies-windows-10-pro/
Dare we ask what are your plans for the next release? What will you remove then?
In this era of ransomware and other threats to businesses of all sizes, we do not feel that you are doing enough to provide businesses of all sizes with the necessary tools to manage and maintain secure systems.
As a representative stated here:

"Microsoft is focused on helping enterprises manage their environment while giving people choice in the apps and devices they use to be productive across work and life. Windows 10 Enterprise is our offering that provides IT pros with the most granular control over company devices.
Windows 10 Pro offers a subset of those capabilities and is recommended for small and mid-size businesses looking for some management controls, but not the full suite necessary for IT pros at larger enterprises. The ability to block access to the Windows Store is typically for organizations who want more control over corporate-owned devices. This fits into the value of Windows 10 Enterprise."
The size of the firm is NOT an indicator that they are less in need of tools for controls. Need we remind Microsoft that they too were once a small firm and did not limit their thinking regarding what they could and could not do.
Bottom line stop using branch releases as a means to demand upgrades to your Enterprise sku.
We encourage you to add value and revenue to your business. We ask that you not do this on the backs of all of your business customers and by devaluing the security and functionality of the Windows 10 pro sku to where is no longer fit for business use.
