Hello. My name is Michela Zoe and I am eleven years old. Right now I am watching the Dukes Mayo bowl,  NC vs SC. I noticed that on the sidelines the NC mascot , Rameses, had his horns painted blue.

I don’t believe it is good for the animal’s to have paint on themselves. Number 1: I care about this because the poor ram has to wait for however long it takes just to have his horns painted blue, and if any of us had horns or tails or anything else attached to our body I don’t think we would want to have it painted. Number 2: The fumes or paint could be harmful even if you barely use it. But I bet it isn’t, especially if or when you use it a lot. Number 3: personally in my opinion I don’t think you should be even taking a big wild or not wild animal out of its habitat just to be shown on tv for a few seconds at a football game. You can always find a nice costume for the mascot instead.

Last but not least , I think using a real animal with harmful paint on him could impact the people and fans of NC football or any other team. For example: I was sitting on the couch watching football , my dad and I were rooting for NC until I realized they had a real ram that had its horns painted blue, then I was like “ I do not want to cheer for them anymore!�” so then now I do not want to ever root for them again and that I is why I am writing this now. I am just glad I am allowed to share my opinions about this.
