Demand Cinemark Theaters stop re-victimizing Aurora theater massacre victims for $700,000.

The Issue

In 2012, in Aurora, Colorado, movie theater-goers went to what they thought would be a normal screening of [Batman's] The Dark Knight Rises. Instead, deranged gunman James Holmes walked in the exit door of the theater (which Cinemark should've secured shut). Holmes opened fire with an assault weapon killing 12 people and injuring numerous others.

Months later a group of victims sued Cinemark for inadequate security. They lost.  Now Cinemark wants to RE-VICTIMIZE these people by demanding the $700,000 Cinemark spent in legal fees. http://ktla.com/2016/09/01/four-aurora-shooting-survivors-ordered-to-pay-cinemark-nearly-700000/

They lost loved ones who went to a movie. They spent days/weeks in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds and surgeries. Now they are being forced to repay a multi-million dollar company ($700 million in profits last year) who does not care about its customers or their well being. A criminal cannot face double jeopardy, but why can a victim be victimized twice???

Please sign this petition and tell Cinemark to stop demanding $ from victims families. Share, retweet, post on your Instagram. It's one thing to live in a country of 310 million guns (for 300 million citizens) but its another to be shot at, survive, and be sued, by the negligent company that allowed the shooting to happen.
