HELP SAVE CRANDON PARK ROLLER RINK

HELP SAVE CRANDON PARK ROLLER RINK
The Issue
Crandon Park Is the Only Place Miami Dade Country has a free outdoor roller skating rink. It not only a historical landmark being built in 1940.It’s the only place where we as skaters can practice and have a good time. It also attracts youth to get into the skating scene when families don’t have the means to afford to go to the skating rink and pay high entrance fees for the whole family. We also have indigenous skaters that connect with this skate park due to the history of the Tequesta Indians and love coming to this park dearly and connecting to their ancestors. We were skating at this park before the pandemic. We bring so much joy to the locals and put money and revenue into the park with the number of people we bring to these events. We buy food. Pay for parking. Rent the pavilion to make sure the park stays alive as residents of Miami Dade County and a community of skaters that has to grow immensely we need all fellow skaters to help to sign this petition to not demolish this skating rink that is so dear to us. Help us come to a solution between Miami Dade county parks and recreation to keep this beautiful space accessible to all the skaters of Miami Dade county. Our mission is to keep this space so that underserved youth can come here and learn how to skate. While other skaters connect with the space that has been in their families for generations. At the end of the day, we just want to keep skating alive and well in the community, and removing this space from the skating community will make a big impact and we will have nowhere else to peacefully skate. It will force us to go to outdoor roller hockey rinks where we can get hurt by flying pucks or the crowded streets of Miami that become more and more dangerous as the population continues to grow and skaters are not safe. Please help us in this mission by signing below!
