Cheating by Xiaomi, MI India, Can not take Customer for granted !

The Issue

Xiaomi India cheated with us and did not deliver order as promised.

I am Milind Akolkar from Pune placed an order on 12th Oct 2016 for Redmi 3s Prime on Mi India official website along with my brother. Before initiating our orders website checked our area PIN code to check whether ‘Delivery and Cash on Delivery’ are available in my area or not. It successfully accepted our PIN code and till this time it is accepted for Delivery and COD both services. Anyone can check for PIN 410501. So on 12th Oct 2016 we both have successfully booked our orders and we have received confirmation mail and SMS from MI India with Order ID as 5161012904755942,5161012904985263. On 14th Oct 2016 we again received messages saying that our orders has been dispatched from Bangalore.

So we waited for 4-5 days more in hoping for delivery of orders. In mean time we did not received any kind of communication from either Mi India or Delhivery Shipping. On 19th Oct I checked with Delhivery Shipping site for status of my order and wrote email to them regarding delay in delivery of my order. I received their reply saying that my area is out of their service zone and they initiated returning of product to the merchant. I was shocked to see this bizarre behavior of MI India and Delhivery shipping.

Delhivery even did not care to call me to inform about this issue and initiated return keeping me the in dark. I immediately called Xiaomi Care about this issue but they did not help much and said your address was out of delivery area so the order will be returned to Xiaomi India and will get cancelled. I was amazed to see this kind unprofessional and unethical practice of Xiaomi India. This is clear case of cheating and fraud with me and my brother.

If our address was out of service zone then why it did not object at the time of bookings. In fact Mi India official site - http://www.mi.com/in/service/shipping/ clearly states that, if PIN code is accepted at the time of booking MI India will deliver the product without any shipping charges. Then why MI India did not follow their own rules and terms. This is clear violation of Customer rights and case of fraud, cheating with customers.

We have lost our 7-8 days in waiting for nothing. Companies cannot take customer for granted and play with their feelings.

This incident was shocking to me. I was going to gift it to someone on Diwali. Now suddenly as MI cancelled my order after 7-8 days I lost my image and credibility of keeping a word. I am facing embarrassments due to this unethical service by Xiaomi. MI India spoiled the occasion. I lost not only image-credibility but one whole week for nothing.

 We demand not only an apology but action against the responsibles and compensation for wasting our valuable time and cheating with us causing mental harassment.

We urge Govt of India to kindly make strict laws against these types of cheating with the fellow citizens to make more secure ‘Digital India’.

We request to everyone to share this on every social platform such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc. to give a strong message to these companies that they, ‘Can not take Customer for Granted’. Let’s show them Consumer Power!
