My name is Jaeé Ralpheal and I am a screenwriter. This petition is based around the origins of the iconic Thriller 'Child's Play'. The 2019 version will be released on tomorrow and it is a complete and utterly ridiculous excuse for a "remake"! The original film, directed, written and produced by Tom Holland, David Kirschner, Don Mancini and John Lafia, was released in 1988, with the exact same title as the 2019 "remake". The movie was a complete success, which over time, became a classic, and a go to horror film for families for years to come. If you aren't familiar with the history behind the movie, here are some fun facts: It's set in the late 80's, with a murderer by the name of Charles Lee Ray, who is subsequently gunned down by law enforcement in a toy factory. At the brink of death, Ray uses his experience with Voodoo to transfer his human soul into a very popular children's doll by the name of Chucky. Chucky then is gifted to a boy by the name of Andy, who's only birthday wish was to get a Good Guy Doll(a popular children's doll at the time). Chucky soon becomes violent, wanting to use Andy's body as a vessel for his own soul, executing anyone standing in his way. Fast forward to today, 2019. There are new writers and producers who are remaking the film, changing the entire narrative, and completely cutting out the original writers and producers from having any involvement. Lars Klevberg and 
Tyler Burton Smith are the people behind this madness. The 2019 version is staged with Chucky as some kind of out of control android device without the human soul of a killer, which is what makes Chucky a "special" doll in the first place. They also decided to change the voice and face of Chucky, not using the original actor, Bradford Claude Dourif. Dourif has been the voice of Chucky, since the first 'Child's Play' film and all of its sequels. To call this a "remake" and to drift so far away from the original is absurd and absolutely unfathomable! I would like for any fans of the original film, to stand with me, sign the petition, and stop this movie from being released tomorrow.  If you believe that classics should remain classics, and not be changed by today's "modern society", then stand with me! Help me to make it possible and Child's Play's legacy isn't ruined! If we aren't able to stop this film from being released, let's boycott the movie showings. Thank you in advance.
