Met Foods: Stop Exploiting Workers!
The Issue
Met Foods owners Omar and Al Hamdan of NASEB Foods, Inc, need to understand that the days when workers can be ripped off and exploited are ending. The laws in the city and state of NY apply to them too. Worker exploitation is wrong, illegal and despicable.
Paying workers “under the table,” refusing to minimum wage, making employees work overtime without pay and other acts of worker exploitation are illegal and despicable. No workers, especially those forced to work in a high traffic, at-risk public setting during a pandemic, should be abused and exploited by companies reaping huge profits on the backs of workers. We demand that MET Fresh stop engaging in wage theft and worker exploitation and we ask the District Attorney’s Office, the City and the State initiate immediate investigations and enforcement actions to protect the rights of workers.
