Many people in our village have expressed concerns over the speed in which cars go through the village of Mount Pleasant.  I worry about the children crossing the road on a daily basis.  The double parking is also dangerous and doesn’t help.  The crash on the 9th November 2020, where I believe 8-9 cars were hit was a catastrophe, imagine if that happen in the day!  When children are waiting for their school bus, or the elderly waiting for the bus to go shopping. We need some measures in place.  I am asking for your support and I will be sending this to our local council - Merthyr Tydfil. Even if they do nothing, then we have proof that we requested measures to be put into place and can hold them accountable for future accidents (praying there won’t be).  Here is an opportunity for the people in charge to make a big difference to our, quite often forgotten village.  A number of residents have said they have already requested a speed camera and nothing has changed. Many speed restriction in Merthyr Tydfil have been put into place only after a devastating accident, this is something I can not accept in our community.  Thank you for your support!
