My name is Zane Clark, I am a Senior at the high school this year. After snowboarding with the district since 6th grade, I was devastated after finding out that it wouldn't happen last year. When the announcement came on the other day, I was super excited. Now, I am expressing my concern with the cost of the program. 2 years ago, it was roughly $200 including transportation, now it costs $380, nearly double the cost. Another concern with Crotched mountain is their vaccine policy, and the fact that no information about the vaccine policy was provided. Parents and students need to be informed of the policy which does not allow them in the cafeteria lodge without proof of vaccine. You can only change in the downstairs lobby and use the bathrooms. 

Gunstock and Pats Peak would gladly host us. First, they do not have any vaccine requirement, therefore students won’t have to worry about not having hot food or having a warm place like the cafeteria/lobby to eat their food they brought to the mountain. 

I am in the process of communicating with the group sales at gunstock and Pats Peak to gain access to their school programs, the equivalent of the Crotched “voyager” program. I know already that Gunstock will be much more affordable since they are already cheaper without a school program discount. More affordable pricing will allow more students to be able to afford doing a sport that some haven’t even done since the 2018/2019 season because they only did it through school. This year because of the cost many aren’t able to do it hence why I have come up with this proposal to save students and parents/guardians money! These mountains are also better maintained and larger for their visitors to enjoy since Crotched doesn’t make enough snow to make it enjoyable. I also have a petition of students who would be interested in a different, more affordable mountain if not a new program.
