My son loves baseball and is in one of Novato's little leagues. Personal experience has led me to believe that merging Novato South Little League and Novato North Little League would be beneficial for our community.

I made suggestions to the Board of NSLL to better build community however I don't have enough influence to break through the old patterns in the system. It's time to rip the band-aid and make changes to start a new pattern that benefits more of the community!

Creating a single super league would not only promote unity among us but also increase participation. This approach aligns with how other sports are conducted in Novato. 

A united league can help decrease nepotism, favoritism, and bias within the system while enabling more changes to be made to increase benefits for players and their families. It will help foster an environment where every child feels safe, encouraged to participate and included.  It would diffuse the current model which is resulting statistically in the loss of players from little league prematurely. 

Let's join together as one community to ensure that all youth athletes and volunteers in Novato have equal opportunities in little league sports without fear or favoritism.

As a matter of common sense, there would also be efficiencies possible from a merger, along with enabling more teams to be formed with more coaches and volunteer participation. Novato Little League could still even have 2 All-Star teams at each age level so we do not lose out on All-Star opportunities.
