Members of Mercer's Greek Life community have enjoyed countless hours of fellowship and fun together. Every chapter house on Greek Village is home, not only to those that live there, but to all chapter members as well. All new and initiated members of Greek Life enjoyed bear card access to their respective chapter houses in years past. This was done away with in the Fall of 2020 in order to limit capacity during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Only chapter members that were residents of their house had access. Now, as we close for the Fall of 2021 semester, a year removed from the height of COVID-19, we ask that Mercer would please return bear card access to all new and initiated members of every Fraternity and Sorority on campus for the Spring of 2022 semester. Positive COVID-19 cases are dwindling and we as a student body boast one of the highest vaccination rates in America. Furthermore, we feel that it is appropriate and reasonable to return this to students as our sporting events are at maximum capacity, our ceremonies and invocations are at maximum capacity, and our orientations and admissions events are at maximum capacity, Can Mercer Fraternities and Sororities please be shown the same respect?
