How do you sum up a life of such achievement in just a single page. Ber was a very talented Musician, Artist, Religious Leader and a Father. Ber's love for his wife and 4 children was a driving force in his life like no other. Ber Lor worked for the Merced City School District from 1994 to Nov 2021 and during that time Ber was a teachers assistant, Cpo clerk, painter, I.T. and other duties not just assigned but needed. From all these different positions Ber was able to form strong bonds will so many people in our district. Ber felt so strongly about the people he became involved with the Csea union and together with a fantastic team made so many positive changes. Some of those changes were things like to establish and ensure accountability of safety measures for students and drivers for on/off the bus, back pay for classified employees for contracted days missed by the school district, establishing more equitable processes and procedures for school employees, establishing and ensuring accountability for safety of students and staff during Covid, and many more. Mr. Lor was dedicated to the students, staff, and the future of our our city. Mr. Lor earned the respect of his peers through hard work and a passion most could never achieve. Mr. Lor spent most of his life as a passionate community member involved with so many projects and programs it would be hard to count. Ber had a thirst for knowledge and a need to share his knowledge. Words like skilled, knowledgeable, friendly, professional, passionate, humble, caring, vibrant, and amazing will always be used to describe Ber. Ber gave willingly to our community his time, his knowledge, and his love with no expectation or hope of reward. Ber did what so many of talk about and say needs done but never do. Ber touched lives, helped teachers and students, fought for the rights of others and gave selflessly to his community. There can be no argument with this choice as it is the right one. Lets make the Community, his Family, and the City proud. Join his friends, family, and the Community in making the Ber Lor Elementary School a reality.
