If we don't change the IT rules freedom of speech on the Internet could be severly curtailed.

The Problem
Last year the Government quietly amended the IT Act. Under the new rules any content can be taken down if someone finds it "offensive".

Because of the new rules websites like Google, Facebook, Yahoo and even Wikipedia can be blocked because someone finds "offensive" content on these sites.

In effect, the new rules give the Government the power to censor the internet and block content that they feel is dangerous.

If these rules are not changed before the upcoming budget session they will be considered accepted.

What can we do?
We need to get progressive MPs to intervene and bring these rules up for discussion.

Ask your MP to raise this issue in the Parliament and protect our freedom of speech!
