Mountainside Fitness is open despite the Governor’s order to close gyms, bars, and waterparks. They are going even further and suing the Governor. During their press conference, people at the gym in the background were not wearing masks, did not wipe down machines when they were finished, and social distancing was not present. 

This is while they’re all aware they are all being filmed. With the numbers of Covid patients increasing at an alarming rate every day. I think we as a people who care about lives, people not dying alone in a hospital, not able to say goodbye to their loved ones; opening this gym with these low of standards is a major threat. 

When you exercise, you breathe heavily. If you’re not wearing a mask since they’re not mandated at this gym, the virus can spread faster. Don’t want that? Work out at home. A yoga mat, squats, lunges, sit ups, push ups, jump rope, going out for a walk, you’re still exercising and staying in shape SAFELY. 

A toned body and big biceps will not matter if you’re stuck in a hospital.  I understand it’s a good outlet for stress and some people really feel they need it, but at a time like this we must make sacrifices for the sake of helping others and saving lives. Please sign if you agree the gym should close for a month while we continue to monitor and find solutions.
