Medicare for All

Medicare for All
The Issue
Healthcare should be a fundamental right accessible to all individuals no matter their age, health status, or socioeconomic background, which is why Medicare should be free for All people. This system would be used in a matter that every person residing in our nation would be covered universally ensuring that no one misses out on basic needs due to lack of insurance or financial means. According to the "Six Ways to Fight Inflation”(2022), it states that “ the federal government directly influences many healthcare prices through payments to Medicare provides advantage plans as well as through its coverage of prescription drugs. Through healthcare reforms, it can reduce prices and the utilization of care…Based on one study, each percentage point reduction in Medicare costs would reduce inflation rates.” This shows how healthcare costs affect everyone and when they rise it affects them in every way. By making it cheaper, it eases the pressure on prices overall. This saves everyone money and also keeps inflation from rising.
Medicare for All means every American would have access to a wide range of essential healthcare services. These consist of primary care, specialty care, hospital visits, emergency services, prescription drugs, mental healthcare, dental care, vision care, and so much more beneficial needs. Medicare for all would address the variety of healthcare needs of our population and promote the overall health of our society.
One of the many advantages of the government being able to provide Medicare for All is its commitment to financial inclusion. Now, there are many Americans who face financial barriers to healthcare such as deductibles and copayments. If we can make Medicare affordable for everyone, that would be a solution to eliminate these obstacles. Medicare for all would provide peace of mind and security to individuals and families knowing that they are covered for all their healthcare needs.
Private insurances are known to raise concerns within the medicare system by selling them by using aggressive tactics, misleading coverage claims, and finally limiting users' access to care. All of these concerns would be eliminated if Medicare for All comes into place. It would remove all of the unsystematic complexities associated with all different insurance companies existing now. Medicare for All would be able to cut off all inequalities in who gets the best care and instead give every individual the same high-quality care no matter their insurance provider.
To conclude, the implementation of a Medicare for All system is not only a policy proposal but it is what is morally right. This policy would guarantee universal coverage, addressing coverage gaps, promoting financial accessibility, and last but not least remove any concerns about private insurance. Hopefully, policymakers can be informed and prioritize the well being of all citizens of the country and help us live life better with one less stress in each one of our lives. Together, we can create a healthcare system that works for everyone ensuring that every individual has access to the care they need no matter what in order to live prosperous lives.
