We are calling on McLagan Investments Limited (Co.reg No 2127156 / of Asda House, Southbank, Great Wilson Street, Leeds, LS11 5AD) and the registered directors, who own the land at Cardiff Gate Retail Park on Dering Road, Pontprennau Cardiff to make vital improvements to the pedestrian crossings to and from Asda Stores. To keep customers who choose to walk safe, when visiting the stores from all directions. This is an area populated with families using the retail Park, Asda and visiting McDonalds.

Myself, my family and members of the community in Pontprennau have reported numerous near misses, from vehicles failing to stop and pedestrians nearly getting run over. The reasons are clearly visible and listed as follows:

•  A lack of road signs warning vehicles of the Zebra crossing
•  Neglect to originally install Belisha Beacons at all Zebra crossings
• Poor and or broken lighting surrounding crossings and pavements
• Worn road markings to the Zebra crossings
• No white zig zags lines to crossings stopping lorries parking and obscuring the view of drivers and pedestrians

All of these improvements are needed urgently to prevent a major accident or loss of life and to keep local families, residents and customers safe. Both of the crossings need major improvements!

This local community issue has been going on far too long, this has to be rectified by the land owners, to keep pedestrians safe when visiting the stores and to prevent a major accident. All crossings have dropped curbs and tactile paving as a detectable warning surface for the visually impaired. If you use Cardiff Gate Retail Park please sign this petition and join the campaign to keep pedestrians safe, before it's too late!!
