Dr Pepper is currently the 6th most popular fizzy drink in the UK, with the owners of Dr Pepper earning around £109.6 million from sales in 2019.

Dr Pepper also only contains 7.2 grams of sugar per 100ml, whereas Coca- Cola contains a whopping 10.6 grams per 100ml. This means that Dr Pepper has a lower rate tax, making it a cheaper beverage for both customers and McDonald's themselves.

Furthermore, McDonald's in the US has Dr Pepper on the menu, and was made available at all McDonald's locations in the US, back in 2009.

If McDonald's UK was to find Dr Pepper as popular as it is in the US, it could bring in more money and promotion into the fast food chain.

McDonald's also take part in limited time products, and even stocking Dr Pepper temporarily as a limited time item, could be a way of seeing the popularity and demand for the product, before committing to the drink permanently.
