Have you ever been to McDonalds drive through and been given a cup holder without asking for one? I bet you have. I also bet that if your anything like me, you take the cup holder, remove your drinks (and place them in the cars built in cup holder) and the McDonald’s holder ends up in the bin / recycling / back of the car until it’s next cleaned. 

I’m willing to bet that if I do this then other people do it too! I have tried to reject the holder at my local McDonalds OR even tell the staff I don’t need one - often the message is lost along the line and I pull up to the window and get one anyway. 

Now, I get it, I know rejecting a single cup holder that can be recycled isn’t the biggest eco move BUT hear me out.

Can you imagine how much less waste McDonalds would send out into the world if they simply asked the question “do you need a cup holder?” before giving you one?! 

It might seem like a very small change but that’s where we start isn’t it? I’m sure there is some mad reason why everyone gets one, maybe it’s convenience or some essential part of the process that my uneducated mind can’t understand BUT I’m sure something could be done - right? 

Im adamant that a fair amount of waste could be saved by just asking a simple question! Sign if you agree and maybe we can make McDonalds listen! :)
