Living in the heart of our town, McCaffrey’s Simply Fresh has become a haven for all of us. Whether you're a young family trying to juggle work and play, or a senior citizen looking for a nearby place to shop for gourmet prepared foods without the hassle of a commute, this local grocery store has been a convenience that we were thrilled to support these past ten years.  Simply Fresh not only stocks the necessities but also brings the touch of gourmet selections to our tables, enhancing our everyday culinary experiences.

However, we have received the news that McCaffrey’s Simply Fresh will leave its West State Street location in the borough and move to the former Weis store about 1-1/2 miles away in early in 2027. This prospect is sad for many members of our community as it would not only mean the loss of fresh, quality produce, meats and gourmet cheese right at our doorstep.  It also signals the closing of a community hub for people of all ages.  Many of my neighbors literally shop there every day!

We would love it if McCaffrey’s would consider continuing to operate this small format store on West State as well as the larger store even if it means offering fewer goods.  If not, we hope another high quality grocer will find their way to us.
