Add more obstacles to the McAllen Skate Park

The Issue

  1. I am starting this petition because I know for a fact that it will lead to good things, happy people and positive outcomes.
  2. Public skateparks attract several teenagers as it is, but in addition to expanding our current skatepark, the possibility of attracting revenue to current businesses in the surrounding area can not be unheard!
  3. Expanding our skate park will lead to businesses around the area to gain revenue as well such as food, beverages, snacks, etc.
  4. A skatepark with a water park for children and a security guard always on duty, calls for a friendly environment and will undoubtedly attract families from all over the city to come and abide the fun.
  5. A bigger skatepark will attract more skateshops to rise and as for the local skateshops that already exist, this will be very beneficial to them if anyone is looking for new equipment, apparel, footwear, and any other items sold by the skateshops.
  6. A bigger skatepark will give more people the opportunity of doing something fun with their time and keeping the youth out of trouble.
  7. A bigger skatepark will give the park some recognition and will attract people to the city, such as athletes, families, and young adults looking to have some fun.
  8. One of the major complaints that communities have with skateboarders is the damage they can do to both public and private property. Having an indefinite place to skateboard helps keep the damage limited to one area and no one will be bothered.
  9. One great outcome out of this will be that our upcoming generations will have an area where they can socialize, and will definitely dedicate themselves to doing something they love.
  11. Help the community and help the people who love to skateboard furfill this opportunity!
