Reinstatement of the Bullhead City River regatta

It is our fundamental belief that the Bullhead City River Regatta brings untold benefits to our valley. These benefits are increased tourist spending, increased tax revenue, and increased awareness of our city. The removal of this annual event will set back our economic recovery from the recent great recession. With no reliable access to interstates or rail roads, and more importantly, with no manufacturing base to speak of our valley relies on the effects of tourism to maintain the style of living to which we have become accustomed. Without this tourism revenue, we will become just another small depressed town out of thousands across this country. We acknowledge that there are issues with the trash removal, people missing the landing sites, and the general disrespect some show to our river and valley. Therefore, we support a citizen’s action committee, working with the local tribe and surrounding communities, to find a way to resolve or minimize these issues. We have been told that you cannot have your cake and eat it too, but we maintain that we can have our regatta and protect our environment at the same time.
