Stop removing Adrian Hurley’s memorial!

On August 27, 2021 my little brother Adrian Hurley was shot and killed at the age of 23. Shortly after hearing about his death in the early hours of the morning people had already started putting flowers and candles down along the side of the sidewalk for him on 39th and James in show of respect and love. Adrian was an amazing brother, son, friend and a dad!, great with his hands and was a free wild spirt. So with the Amazing outpour of love we decided to hold a candlelight visual in his honour. Lots of people showed up lots of love, Lots of flowers lots of candles. But recently we have come to find out that someone had taken all of his stuff and put it in the garbage!!! We’ve spoken to some neighbours who said they wouldn’t touch it and respected how we’ve left things for him, but to hear such a cruel act of someone taking the items and now someone putting in service calls to the city for the new items to be removed along with the removal of a spray painted heart dedicated to him! I’m making this petition In hopes that everyone will sign it saying we can keep my brothers memorial where he passed. Sidenote the stuff that we had put out for him was not in anyone’s way, we had put it very nicely up against the bushes so that people could walk by without a problem. For someone to look at his memorial and think “that’s an eyesore” is very heartbreaking and disgusting . We are still grieving; we come here daily ! His blood is still on the sidewalk we see it and we feel close to him please do not let the city or heartless neighbours take this away from us!
