Ensuring City of Cote Saint Luc follows Government Order and Opens ALL Tennis Courts

The Issue

Since the pandemic has hit CSL has repeatedly gone overboard in closing off park space. Kirwan/Singerman/Nathan Shuster/Silverson/Rembrandt instead of only closing off playground equipment they have fenced off entire pathways and greenspace. Mayor Plante has recommended that Montrealers remain within their own communities as much as possible and walk through their local parks and greenspaces for exercise, yet CSL continues to keep these spaces closed off, they must remove these fences TODAY. To make matters worse the Quebec government has deemed it safe to play singles tennis outdoors as social distancing practices can be easily maintained and yet again CSL is going overboard and against the unilateral approach carried out by every single other municipality in Quebec by attempting to open only some tennis courts and not all as CSL Tennis Club is slated to remain closed going against government order allowing citizens to resume singles play as of May 20th 2020. With basketball courts, butler building, playgrounds, swimming pools all closed for the foreseeable future in CSL + Tennis being one of the few activities permitted during these difficult times. CSL must do everything in its power to allow for its citizens to engage in this sport on ALL its tennis surfaces, all the while respecting and abiding by the guidelines and safety measures imposed by the government. We cannot have 2 courts available for 32000 people. Come the 20th of May 2020 CSL Tennis Club MUST BE OPEN + Silverson/Singerman/Kirwan/Nathan Schuster parks fences blocking off entry points to green spaces and open fields REMOVED TODAY.
