As COVID-19 continues to surge across Illinois, Governor JB Pritzker is calling out local governments for not enforcing restrictions and says its up to residents to get change the trend.  This is not a political matter.  It is a matter of life and death.

Remember, that while COVID19 hits our population with underlying health conditions more severely, over 50% of Vermilion County residents HAVE underlying health conditions. This will grow enormously if we do not take this crisis seriously.  Also, Vermilion County has a high percentage of senior citizens who have sacrificed for months by not seeing family and friends because they are more susceptable to this disease. And children are not immune and often have serious and long lasting effects even if they do not have serious symptoms. These citizens deserve our concern and protection.
We need your help to combat this pandemic. Given the current local situation, NOTHING should stand in front of implementing these changes because at this point our health as citizens should be the county's NUMBER ONE focus, and nothing else.  

We are asking you to listen to science  and take the painful steps to stabilize and heal our citizens and economy by following and enforcing the Governor's mandates.  Be the leader we elected!
