Coronado is one of the best places to call home. It’s safe, has a wonderful community, and beautiful ocean views. Dogs have it pretty good here too.

Coronado Dog Beach was closed to prevent the spread of Coronavirus at the beginning of the quarantine. However, data indicates that new cases in San Diego are under control and that outdoor open spaces are at very low risk for spreading the virus. As of May 18th, across San Diego County, virtually all dog parks (notably the OB Dog Beach) and beaches for people have opened. In light of these facts and events, we do not believe it makes sense for the Coronado Dog Beach to remain closed.

We petition that Coronado Dog Beach open to the public, as it is consistent with the latest health actions implemented across the state and county. Join us now to support the opening of Coronado Dog Beach!

NOTE: Coronado residents have been very responsible to date. In an effort to promote safety, parking near the dog beach should remain closed to prevent overcrowding and access to the Dog Beach can be limited from Monday to Friday during the initial transition. Dog owners should also adhere to the same rules as other beaches. We are confident that Coronado residents will act together as a community to make sure the Dog Beach is opened responsibly.
