Replacing a mural

The Issue

Beyond Walls a company based in Lynn, MA has done beautiful work in Downtown Lynn with amazing large scale murals. Most of the themes on the walls involve people of color that represent the neighborhood. When Beyond walls and Peabodys Main Streets along with Artist Vise1 came to South Peabody they put a mural here that does not represent the neighborhood. A big old scary white lady staring down a little black boy ( who looks sad ) does not represent South Peabody at all. In fact this wall promotes division not unity. Hip Hop and Graffiti is based on peace, love, unity, and having fun. This artist clearly came to peabody and painting something that has nothing to do with the south peabody experience. Playing sports , the rope swing , land and sea , riding BMX bikes, this is what comes to mind when I think of South Peabody, not a big white lady looking over at a lost black boy.

I want to re-paint this wall. I want do a mural here that represents South Peabody in a positive light. I don't want to get paid for my time but I do want Beyond walls to pay for all the paint, lifts, and any other supplies. I want the Beyond Walls entire staff to have a respectful discussion with me so I can explain the many reasons why this is wrong. Especially because all the work they do in Lynn does represent the surrounding environment but not in this case at South Peabody Liquors in Peabody Massachusetts.
