The High Park Zoo has proposed to be closed in the 2012 City Budget. The High Park Zoo has been a very important part of Toronto for over 110 years. From bison to llamas to barbary sheep, the High Park Zoo has offered generations of families an opportunity to come together and learn about Canadian and international wildlife, free of charge. It survived through Great Depression and World War II. We need to find a way to save the High Park Zoo which runs on a small budget of $220,000. We can't treat animals just like commercial items which are no longer in use. That is their home and we need to keep it for them!
