Proper waste disposal in San Jose, Batangas
The Issue
This photo shows one of the rivers that was dumped with garbage until the river stinked and became a known garbage dump. It is not only the garbage dump in the forest that is being dumped with trash, but so many parts of the forest are being destroyed as a result of improper waste disposal. Our actions have negatively impacted the ecology and biophysical environment. This river is full of animals and human waste, plastics, etc. In order not to fill the garbage dump, it is ignited, which also contributes heavily to pollution not only in the Philippines but also in our world.
It is not too late to save the forest from man-made pollution. We need to solve it as soon as possible and if we do not solve it right away the whole forest can be destroyed. Doing actions to improve the said water pollution in the river. The best way to prevent large-scale water pollution is to try and reduce its harmful effects. There are numerous small changes we can make to protect ourselves from a future where water is scarce. Conserving water should be our first aim. We also need to treat waste products before disposing of it and by using products that do not go on to become pollutants. Life is eventually about choices and so is water pollution. We as a student are capable of preventing water pollution. We can voice out our thoughts and speak for our will. We can prevent water pollution of nearby rivers and lakes as well as groundwater and drinking water with our will and love for our nature.
If this project/petition will be approved to take action, it would benefit not just the river health but also the society itself. It may give foods like fish and other aquatic animals. It may also help in terms of water use in agriculture and industry. Aside from that, the river plays a significant role in the water cycle, which serves as a drainage channel for surface water. In the long run, rivers are a vital part of living. As a matter of fact, rivers hold different stories that impact human history that shapes our culture and societies. In simple ways, we can save our river, we can save one of our water resources that stand as one of the foundations of our lives.
