Sell The Team Bob

Sell The Team Bob
The Issue
Ever since 1990, the Cincinnati Reds have yet to win a World Series…the pieces have been there to bring home baseball’s most coveted prize or even a deep playoff run, something Cincinnati’s other team finally did after over 3 decades…but it at least fostered hope for the future.
There is no future for the Cincinnati Reds with the Castellini’s as owners, that much is very clear after giving away Sonny, Jesse, Eugenio, Wade for next to nothing. Reds fans got 2 years…TWO of being competitive and we never truly got to see this full team for a full season thanks to Covid. Management carelessly sacrificed numerous top rated prospects and never kept the band together long enough to provide a chance to consistently be competitive. The swift 180 degree in direction by this franchise in the past 4 years is alarming to look at as a lifelong & now heartbroken Reds fan.
As a business, it’s even more alarming when one looks at what the Reds originally paid vs Reds return, it’s baffling because one would think that the Reds traded a depreciated asset based on the little return received…Nick Krall & the entire Reds front office don’t know how to do their job—simple as that. The nails in the coffin are the returns (or lack thereof—Wade Miley) of Sonny Gray, Jesse Winker, Eugenio Suarez, & Wade Miley—who deserves to be mentioned twice because his 2021 WAR was SECOND behind International Phenom Shohei Ohtani.
That being said, it’s simple: Cincinnati deserves better than this. In a sport with no salary cap, Cincinnati deserves an owner who’s vision is that of restoring the Cincinnati Reds to their Big Red Machine days or Wire to Wire Champion days.
Joey Votto is a future MLB Hall of Famer, Reds Hall of Famer, & will be the last Red to wear #19 after he retires…a World Series title is all that’s missing to his HOF career, he’ll never have a chance to accomplish this feat with the Castellini family owning the Reds. #SellTheTeamBob & #FreeJoeyVotto
Reds ownership needs to be convinced that change is needed for the progression and restoration of the Cincinnati Reds franchise.
