Stop Solid Waste Transfer Station in Bernardsville

Stop Solid Waste Transfer Station in Bernardsville

The Issue

Do you want 100 tons of waste per day entering our community? Then act now to urge our Borough decision makers to oppose Solid Waste Facility permit application No. TRP 180001.

Old Quarry Road Associates LLC has recently submitted an application to the Bureau of Solid Waste Permitting within the Department of Environmental Protection for a Solid Waste Facility to be located at 33 Old Quarry Road. The solid waste transfer station would be eligible for accepting 100 tons of 13 and 13c waste per day, seven days a week.

Bernardsville is a community that proudly promotes conservation, sustainability, and environmental safety. Let our Borough Decision makers know that you expect them to make smart decisions that uphold the values and interests of Borough families.

The Borough Council plans to address this issue at the Borough Council Meeting on Monday, August 13.

Sign this petition to urge the Bernardsville Borough decision makers to oppose Solid Waste Facility permit application No. TRP 180001 and stand up for a cleaner, safer Bernardsville.

At this point the most effective thing that the concerned citizens can do is send written comments to the DEP. The comments should written hard copy and sent via snail mail. Comments should be specific and address the following points · Safety · Traffic · Noise · Odor · Environmental · Dust · Water · Hours of Operation ALL COMMENTS SHOULD BE SENT TO ARRIVE +NO LATER THAN SEPT 4, AND SHOULD REQUEST AN EXTENSION OF THE COMMENT PERIOD BECAUSE OF THE BROAD RANGE OF INTERESTS INVOLVED, AND BECAUSE THE DEPARTMENT SHOULD CONSIDER THE NEW INFORMATION BEING PROVIDED IN THESE COMMENTS. If you would like to attend the council meeting tonight please do. Please note that there is a parking lot at borough hall, and one that is across the street from the firehouse, up the ramp. Please don’t park at the firehouse for safety reasons. I hope that we can achieve the best resolution possible, if we all work together I know we can. Our environment and our health are always my top priorities. Anyone is free to email me, Czamarra@bernardsvilleboro.org
