Drop All Charges Against Givionne Jordan Jr

Drop All Charges Against Givionne Jordan Jr
Why this petition matters
On May 31st in Charleston, South Carolina, a brave young man named Givionne Jordan Jr. proclaimed to the police officers surrounding his peaceful protest that he loved them and wanted to see the best sides of everyone there that day. He'd spent the morning cleaning up the damage from the night before, and encouraged those protesting with him to kneel with him (which they did) to show the police officers that they were no threat - they "just wanted to make the world a better place".
An hour before the curfew and on his knees, Givionne was breaking no laws - he was not under curfew and has the constitutionally protected right to assembly and freedom of speech.
After 2 minutes of heartfelt pleading with the officer, two officers in riot gear and gas masks single out Jordan Jr, dragging him off his knees. He was forced to spent the night in jail and pay bail (almost $500).
His court date is June 16th for "disobeying lawful order". I implore the Mayor of Charleston, John Tecklenburg, the Governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster, and the Charleston Chief of Police, Luther Reynolds, to drop all charges against Givionne.
They say want a peaceful protest - but they do not want a protest at all, even a peaceful, lawful, and respectful protest.
