Jose “Jojo” Burgos was only 19 when he took his life away. He was a son, brother, nephew, a friend, teammate, and so much more. He was loved by many, and made so many connections growing up on this very street. Let us remember his spirit for what he was — kind, loving, and full of life. Let his name be the reminder to never give up hope, that life is meant to serve a greater purpose. 
  Suicide is the the 10th leading cause in America. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention reported that in 2019, 47,511 people died of suicide and of that number, men died by suicide 3.63x more often than women. There needs to be a way to educate our youth in the importance of mental health awareness. To be guided to resources that prevent making a decision that has no form of being reversed. As a community we need to be able to identify the patterns and signs of those who experience depression, form of addiction, substance abuse, etc.
