Help us STOP over development of aproximatley 70 homes at 3100 Collard Rd. Arlington, TX. 76017

We acknowledge that land development is a fact of life and a right of the landowner. However, any development must be done responsibly and with consideration to exsisting landscape and neighborhoods.

Development should be approached in a comprehensive manner that promotes continuity and orderly growth. The current development Sterling Greene planned for Collard Road is not that.

This petition encourages reconsideration of the current ECM proposed Sterling Greene Subdivision.  There are a number of reasons the design of this subdivision should be reconsidered.

*This type of development does not blend in at all with the existing residential homes or landscape.  The height, bulk, and scale of these new homes will hurt the human ecology of our neighborhood.

*The increased motor vehicle use added not only to Collard Road but also through Hunter Bend Subdivision will negatively impact the safety of our children who walk to and from school  as well as those who use this road for exercise and recreation.

* The current infrastructure has not been updated and no assessments or improvements are required.

*Due to flexible standards developers are able to circumvent the review processes intended to ensure the environmental and infrastructure impact is properly assessed and that these projects fit sensitively into our neighborhoods.

* The large trees will be destroyed during construction and the wildlife that currently resides will be forced to relocate.

As residents and citizens of Arlington, Texas we urge you to not approve the current plan without allowing us to participate in the decisions that affect us directly to ensure that what is produced will have a lasting quality, preserve the character of our neighborhood and be sensitive to the surrounding area.
