Working from home and forced to pay for meter parking?
Working from home and forced to pay for meter parking?
Why this petition matters
As people are still working from home, the Town of Harrison has placed into effect meter parking on the streets of Harrison, NJ. This was lifted during the pandemic, but for some reason placed back into effect on July 22, 2020.
This is strenuous on the people who are forced to work from home or who are unemployed. Parking lots in the area such as Urby, formally known as Little Man Parking, has raised their prices due to the enforcement of street parking. At one time the Urby parking lot was $185 and now it is $195.
In the midst of a pandemic, people who are forced to work from home or are unemployed are being obligated to pay for meter parking on a daily basis. This is insensitive, cruel, and inhuman.
We ask that you please support our petition to have the city remove the enforcement of street parking meters.
