The Issue

In a time of political correctness, cancel culture, and wokeness..the derivative of removing statues and anything triggering has reached an unfathomable amount of ludacracy.A statue that has been in my hometown for generations,of the man who founded Canton,is only now under attack and considered "racist".Considered as such by the same people that pack the square and get drunk and party around him every weekend. He is lit up and adorned for holidays,he is many fond memories for many of us who have actually lived here our whole lives. To claim this statue is all of a sudden racist and offensive is ludacris especially considering the same people crying racism have profitted off him and his namesake on the square.Let's be real here .The city has many problems, crime and poverty, corrupt politicians.A statue, that statue has never gotten down off his post and murdered anyone,or called racial slurs to anyone.Lets focus on the real issues here, and leave our beloved statue alone.
