As a resident of Passaic I request the city to fly the Pride flag for the Pride Month, commencing  on June 1st. The rainbow flag is not of political association, it is a symbol that represents a diverse community. For the LGBTQIA+ community, It symbolizes hope, and perseverance.

The residents of Passaic deserve to know that their city is accepting of all.

For those who may be opposed to the flying the Pride flag, I would like to point out that it does not take anyone’s rights away. Flying the flag will shows all in the LGBTQIA+ community that the city they grew up in accepts them for who they are. It shows that they are appreciated, safe and cared for.

It is time that we embrace the diverse culture that exists within our city and rise the flag!
