The People of Peterborough own Peterborough Distribution Incorporated, and as such the People of Peterborough should have the last say in the fate of this publicly owned utility. Many people living in this area are concerned about the possibility of rate increases and other negative outcomes should this utility be sold. For this reason, and the aforementioned reason that we truly own the utility, the People of Peterborough respectfully request the right to vote in a BINDING referendum on this matter.
